We got to go in to Barbie's classroom to help with a couple of things. While we were there, Audrey made herself at home in a desk with her Mom's phone. She looks so big. Jarod found a "finding" book and sat down to find things (he is really good at that sort of thing). Dianna was not with us because she was sick. Here is a picture of Barbie's reading board (the children snuck into this picture in the top left). Also, the book in the middle is a biography of Walt Disney. Love you all. Have a wonderful week.
Wait! That is not right. "Pause that...and reverse it." Time flies when you are having fun. Yes, yes. That is right. Well, it is really hard to believe that I have been on Staff here at PCC for ten years already!! January 6, 2013 marked the beginning of my tenth year at the Print Shop.
This past Thursday President and Mrs. Shoemaker hosted a dinner honoring staff and faculty celebrating 10, 30, and 40 years of ministry. The 10 year people were given a beautiful watch. The 30 year folk were given Waterford crystals. And the 40 year people were given a monetary gift. There were 30 of us celebrating our 10 year anniversaries.
Barbie and I had a great evening at the dinner. Our meal began with a traditional French onion soup. (Sorry, no pictures. I thought that it would be tacky to take pictures of the food at a formal function, but then a guy at our table took pictures of every course! But by that time if I did it, it would look as if I was just copying.) Followed by a salad course of some greens with a vinaigrette and stuffed tomato. Next up was the entree consisting of Filet Mignon, three jumbo shrimp and a twice baked potato. The meal was finished with an Italian panicotta and coffee.
The meal was followed by testimonies by representatives from each of the three honored groups. It was neat to hear stories of how The LORD has moved and worked throughout the years and brought all of us to this place of ministry. We are blessed and happy to be a part of the ministry here at Pensacola Christian and we look forward to what The LORD has in store for us down the road.
Here is a picture of my watch. We love you all.
So this Spring we decided to re-do Dianna and Audrey's room. We plan to put wood planks on the ceiling, paint an accent wall, paint their dressers, and put up a chalkboard feature on one wall. The chalkboard feature is a secret and she does not know it is coming.
First up is Dianna's dresser. Barbie found this idea on the Pintrest website. So the pictures go from start to finish and the "paint chip" is the color pallet inspiration. I will post more as we do more.
