Believe it or not, that is a road covered with water. You can see the traffic backed up. Nobody was going much of anywhere yesterday.
A baseball park in Jacksonville. On the left in the background, find the two lightposts, each having a cluster of 3 lights. They are just about 1 foot above the water.
I wonder if these cars were stationary during the rain, or if drivers thought they'd be able to make it through the water on the road. Being in Pensacola for Hurricanes Erin, Opal, George, Dennis, Ivan, Katrina, etc., I have not seen flood conditions like this.
If this last picture continued just a bit more to the left, you'd see the stranded cars from the previous picture.

We went out again today, trying again to get to North Little Rock. The weather has been quite clear all day, but the water has not receded enough, and the interstate was still closed. We are going to try again tomorrow afternoon.

whoa. weird that it was like that! i've never seen it that bad! i'm so glad you guys weren't caught in it.
What was Lika & Jason's house like during this flooding period? I am remembering how their house is at the end of the cul de sac - did the house get any water inside or any flooding especially in the old den and now Toa's bedroom? That sure was a lot of water! talofai! and the house next door with the package floating in the middle of the yard is just .... a lot of water!
