More from the Fort

Here is some more from Fort Pickens.  Such an exciting place, so rich in history!  Here are the children standing by one of the lower guns of the fort.  Jarod is demonstrating how the cannon would sound when it was fired.

The outer walls of the fort was connected to the central portions of the fort via tunnels.  Here is one of the tunnels (it was blocked off a little ways in).

Here is a really cool feature of the fort.  The fort was built on sand; so to counteract the shifting foundation, teh engineers looked to ancient builders for the answers and utilized the "reverse arch" technique.  FOr every arch that you see around the fort, there is a reverse arch just below it.  Just as the upper arch evenly dispersed the weight of the building above the reverse arch evenly dispersed the weight into the sand and back into the base of the walls.

  This picture is just so cute.  Jarod was looking at the rifled bore of the cannon.  We had such a good time at the fort exploring.  One of our days to tour the fort we caught the tail end of a Blue Angel practice session; that was something to watch.  Love you all.  Thanks for coming along on our tour of Fort Pickens in Pensacola, FL.

Here is Leilani and Darby playing softball. She is such a ball of energy. The children had such a good time hanging out with their cousins on this trip.
Here is my new little friend - Elisaia. He is so adorable and has a very laid back demeaner and inquisitive nature. He has this "Indiana Jones look" that is just so cute. He wanted to come with me, but his parents said no.
Here are the hula hoop champions displaying their skills. Dianna does a good job and Jarod surprised me with being able to do it.

Look at all that food! The LORD truly blessed us with good food and great fellowship. We had a great trip. I have so many more pictures from the trip that I will try to get up between the two blogs. Love you all and thanks again for a great trip.

Last Game of the Season

It is hard to believe that we have completed the children's first Pre-T season. Here are a few shots from their last game last Friday evening. Here is Jarod in his "ready" position at short stop. Dianna posing for the camera in left field. Adorable!

It was so hot out that by the end of the last inning Dianna was feeling it. THey were both ready to be done with the game at that point.

We were so excited that the children had such a good time this season. They are already looking forward to next season. We will use this summer to try further the new skills they have acquired and maybe learn some new things. Tune in next season when you may hear a "Yes, yes, Rosemary." Alofas.

The Happy Graduate

Here is our proud little graduate after her program. She participated in several parts of the program. She was a reader in a reading circle and also was part of a number song. She did such a great job! We are so proud of her. We will post more pictures later. Love you all.

Ready to Tackle the World

After a short, but restful sleep, the Tupua children donned their new outfits andset out to take on EPCOT. We are looking forward to a great day. We had a good breakfast and we are ready to go. I think that's pretty cool. Alofa tele.
